How do I become a Pilot?
This gives you an overall view of the process from start to finish.
We’ll help you through each step.
Research
Not all flight schools are the same. Compare flight schools and select the one that meets the goals for your personal needs.
Some questions you may want to ask a flight school include
- What happens to any deposits if I stop training?
- Is ground instruction one-on-one or in a class?
- How old are the airplanes?
- Are airplanes and instructors always available?
- Will I have the same instructor throughout?
Discovery Flight
Your first flight controlling an airplane is called a “Discovery Flight” or “Intro Flight.” It’s a great way to see if you enjoy flying and if you’d like to progress further.
You’ll get behind the controls and actually fly the plane yourself. Dynasty offers a one hour flight over the beautiful Miami coastline.
Get Certificates
You’ll need two certificates before you can start flying by yourself
- FAA Medical Certificate
- FAA Student Pilot Certificate
The medical can be obtained through a specialized doctor called an AME (Aeromedical Examiner). The student pilot certificate can be obtained through your flight instructor.
Start Training
Train to become a safe pilot with a combination of ground and flight lessons.
All Dynasty Aviation lessons are one-on-one so you can go at your own schedule and learn at your own pace.
Pass Your Exam
You’ll need to pass two exams
- Private Pilot Knowledge Test
- Private Pilot Practical Test
The knowledge test is a traditional multiple choice exam given through the FAA.
The practical test is where you demonstrate your knowledge and skills to an FAA-approved DME (Designated Pilot Examiner).
