No, a Sport Pilot license doesn’t permit flying a Cessna 172 as it exceeds the light-sport aircraft (LSA) weight limitations. Sport Pilots are restricted to flying LSAs, which have a maximum takeoff weight of 1,320 pounds. However, Dynasty Aviation offers transition training for Sport Pilots who later wish to upgrade to a Private Pilot license, which would allow you to fly a Cessna 172 and other larger aircraft.
After completing Sport Pilot training at Dynasty Aviation, you’ll be qualified to fly any FAA-certified light-sport aircraft (LSA), including popular models like the Cessna 162 Skycatcher, Evektor SportStar, Flight Design CTLS, and Tecnam P2008. These modern aircraft offer excellent handling characteristics and advanced avionics. In the Pembroke Pines area, you’ll enjoy perfect flying conditions for exploring South Florida’s beautiful coastlines and landscapes.
